
The minister of youth development,
Mr Boni Haruna, has commended the Nigerian military for the recovery of
Madagali and other territories in Adamawa State from the hands of
insurgents.
In a press release signed by the assistant director (Press), Olusola Abiola, the minister also commended President Goodluck Jonathan for fulfilling his promise to Nigerians that before the rescheduled elections, the territories would be recovered for peaceful and transparent elections to hold in all parts of the country.
He also noted that the recovery of Mildo, Sabon gari, Gulba and Madagali, all territories in Adamawa State, was a sign of the president’s commitment to the protection of the nation’s territories.
He called on the residents of the territories in Adamawa State to return to their communities, assuring them of government’s plan to rebuild their communities.
Haruna also called on the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) to begin preparations for actual voting in these areas as the people have a strong desire to perform their civic responsibilities in their communities.
