The #BringBackOurGirls group, has
warned the federal government and the security agencies to secure the
liberated towns before allowing the Internally Displaced Persons
(IDPs)return home in order to avoid reprisal attacks from the Boko Haram
sect.
The group, which made the call, while responding to reports of some killings in Gamboru after the Chadian army left the town, noted that it would be suicidal to allow people from these areas return home without adequate security.
Speaking at the group’s sit-out, Shehu Abubakar, a member of the group said “We heard that after the Chad army were asked to leave Gamboru, Boko Haram sect came to kill some people. It is unfortunate. The army should know that victory is multifacet. The lives of the people should be secured. It is not enough to over run a community and leave it bare without protection. The military and government should stop giving us conveinent official truth. The people should not be brought back to their homes to vote with no protection.”

Speaking ahead of the forthcoming elections and the report that some government officials are forcing IDPs in Maiduguri camps to return home in order to vote, the group called on the security operatives to ensure that there is adequate security both during and after the elections in the recovered towns.
Meanwhile the BBOG has praised the emir of Kano, Sanusi Mohammadu for speaking up as a true leader in the face of Boko Haram insurgency so far.
According to Maureen Kabric, while commending the emir for declaring that he was ready to lose his life if that is what will bring peace to the north; noted that if all our leaders would be selfless enough to sacrifice their lives for the citizens, then Nigeria would be greater.
She however, called on other leaders to take a clue from Sanusi’s statement and make greater statements of such in public as these kinds of statements would encourage the masses to have belief in their leaders.
While commenting on the reported collaboration between the Boko Haram sect and ISIS, the BBOG advised federal government to take the reported alliance between Boko Haram and ISIS seriously, as so many sources are beginning to confirm the truthfulness in the collaboration and the danger it poses to Nigeria.
