Supporters of the All Progressive
Congres (APC) Presidential Candidate, Gen. Muhammed Buhari and his
running mate, Professor Yemi Osinbajo, have commenced a door-to-door
voters’ education campaign in Jigawa State.
Coordinator of the campaign in the State, Abdulrahmal Abdulahi, in an interview with Leadership Weekend, said the education became imperative, especially amongst the women and rural dwellers to avoid the usual void votes that often characterized the polls.
He added that the essence of the campaign was to shore up the strength of the supporters of the APC, just as he obliged that more than 7,000 members of the party are carrying out the exercise across the length and breadth of the state.
According to him, in every one of the 3, 867 polling units in the state, at least a team is on ground carrying out the exercise, contending that the poor and lackluster performance of the ruling Peoples Democratic Party, Jigawa people have signified readiness to vote for change.
“It is in view of that we embark on the voters’ education campaign vote overwhelmingly for the candidates of the APC, beginning from the lowest rung to the Presidency, which Buhari symbolizes. Part of the campaign also will be to enlighten our mothers and sisters to avoid the use of any decorative substance like ‘Laila’ so as to avoid voiding their cards,” the Coordinator added.
He added that it was the resolve of the entire people of the State to end the sixteen years of the untold economic, social and political agony, which the PDP-led government have consistently been unleashing on the masses of the people.
