
Former secretary of Academic Staff Union of Universities (ASUU),
University of Jos chapter, Santos Ayuba Larab has said the expectation
of Nigerians is for whoever emerges winner of last Saturday’s
presidential election to make good governance their creed.
He also emphasised the need for the winner and losers in the election as well as their supporters to respect the pact they went into, to conduct themselves in a peaceful manner after the announcement of the election result by INEC.
“The winner of the presidential election should tackle the issue of corruption and insecurity in the country. What Nigerians expect from whoever INEC declares winner is a template of good governance.
“Nigerians should encourage strengthening of institutions and not individual, the international community is watching us and a credible election will mark a turning points in our lives,” he said.
The university don further pointed out that Nigerian workers look forward to a leadership that would ensure that their welfare if improved, noting that Nigerian workers produce the wealth of the country and so, their welfare should not be taken for granted.
