The baby girl born with no EYES: Rare condition means child will never see, but her mother says she is still 'gorgeous

Danielle Davis, 24, from Cwmbran, South Wales, refused a termination when a routine scan revealed her baby had a cyst on its brain. When baby Daisy was born, doctors broke the news that she had no eyes (Ms Davis is pictured with her daughter, left). Daisy suffers from Anopthalmia - meaning absence of eyes - a condition which affects just one in 10,000 babies in the UK. There is no cure, and she will never be able to see (she is pictured, right). Some children have prosthetic eyes fitted for cosmetic reasons when they are older. Ms Davis said the diagnosis came as a shock, but she still believes her little girl is beautiful. She said: 'It was a shock - we had never heard of it before. But she is our gorgeous baby and we have no regrets about turning a termination. We want to give Daisy as normal a life as possible and give her the same opportunities as other children.'
