The Presidency yesterday spurned reports suggesting that the outgoing
administration headed by President Goodluck Jonathan had abandoned some
of its ongoing projects following his defeat in the March 28
presidential poll.
It said the loss to the president-elect, Gen. Muhammadu Buhari (rtd) notwithstanding, the Jonathan-led government is still working for the good of the country and its citizens.
Special adviser to the president on media and publicity, Dr. Reuben Abati, who refuted the reports in a message he posted on his Facebook page yesterday, said there was no iota of truth in the claim.
In a bid to prove that Jonathan is still working for the country as its president until May 29 when he is due to officially hand over, Abati said that ongoing work at the site of the Second Niger Bridge which is currently under construction, the Lagos-Ibadan Expressway and the Abuja-Kaduna Railways, among others were good examples.
He thanked Nigerians for affording Jonathan the opportunity to serve them, saying the transformation started by the present administration would continue under the leadership of the incoming President Buhari from May 29.
He also said, “A short video from the site of the Second Niger Bridge which is currently under construction according to project schedule. Our projects have not been deserted as some reports give. From Lagos-Ibadan Road to Abuja-Kaduna Railways and Kashimbilla Dam, which are set for commissioning, we are still working for you.
