The All Progressives Congress (APC) gubernatorial candidate in Niger
State, Alhaji Abu Sani Bello has decried the underdevelopment of the
state in spite of its natural and human resources.
Speaking at a dinner with journalists in Minna yesterday, Alhaji
Bello noted that Niger State was one of the largest states in the
country in terms of landmass, but had remained underdeveloped and
backward in all parameters and indices of development.
He said the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) which had governed the state for almost 16 years had failed to harness and utilise the rich natural resources that abound in Niger, saying that it was sad for the state government to continue to rely on meagre federal allocation.
The APC governorship candidate assured Niger electorate of people-oriented programmes and projects, with priority areas in agriculture, youth empowerment, poverty eradication, education and infrastructure.
He called on the media to continue to uphold the ethics of the profession.
